6 Most-Requested Home Architecture Features Part 2

We are doing a series this week on the six most-requested home architecture features according to a recent architects roundtable hosted by At Home in Fairfield County. The first three we listed earlier in the week include home offices, built-in storage, and outdoor living space. Check out the final three:
- Accessory buildings. Pool houses, two-story garages, and indoor basketball courts, for example, add important specialized living space to homes and accommodate a variety of lifestyle needs such as housing a boomerang child or aging parent as well as indulging in a favorite hobby.
- Entertaining space. More and more people are entertaining in their homes and want a living space designed for a crowd such as a wide, open floor plan with extra dining space and a commercial-grade kitchen.
- Mudrooms. A few hooks and cabinets won’t cut it for today’s family on-the-go. Mudrooms now include highly functional features such as built-in lockers for each member of the family, a charging station for mobile electronics, and durable, low-maintenance flooring and materials.
